The location
Villalba and San Marco village
Villalba is a characteristic village located on the slopes of Lignano, at an altitude of 292 metres. Its origin dates back to Etruscan times, but over time it was also inhabited by Lombard nobles during the early Middle Ages.
Today, there are few houses in the village, but the presence of the small, ancient church of S. Maria provides an atmosphere of tranquillity and serenity. What makes Villalba a unique place is the spectacular panoramic view it offers of the city of Arezzo.
